The Barnard/Columbia Psychology Society
Reestablished (and renamed) in 2025, The Psych Society is a student-led organization dedicated to exploring psychology, promoting student wellbeing, and building a meaningful community across Barnard and Columbia. The club's faculty advisor is Prof. Ken Light, Senior Lecturer of Psychology, and affiliated faculty in Neuroscience & Behavior at Barnard College.
The Psych Society is open to all students interested in psychology, not just majors and minors. We aim to create an inclusive and engaging space where students can connect through shared interests in psychology, mental health, human behavior, research, and student wellbeing. We try to host monthly events with a wide range of programming including networking opportunities, educational events, faculty and student conversations, wellness-centered programming, and social events. The Psych Society also aims to help students explore opportunities within the field of psychology, including research, internships, graduate study, and careers related to mental health.
Whether you are deeply involved in psychology or simply curious about the field, The Psych Society welcomes you.
